Standard black wax comes in long square sticks.  It has great flowing properties when it's heated, so it is a great wax for beginners.  If there is any heat generated during polishing, Standard black wax may become a little tacky and the stone may shift.  Therefore, we don't recommend Standard black wax for cutting corundum.

Hot Stuff Super Glue, Solvent and Accelerator
This fine brand of super glue is sold in two types: Red (thin), which is used for gluing flat surfaces together and surface treating porous areas of cabochons; and Yellow (gap filling), which can be used for dopping pavilions and filling small holes in cabochons.

An alcohol lamp is a safe way to dop your stones with wax.  If you use adhesives for dopping, the alcohol lamp is handy for heating up the dop to easily remove your stones.

Tweezers:
Tweezers are handy tools for faceters.  Fine point tweezers are helpful when sorting through a parcel of cut or rough stones.  Locking tweezers are useful when closely inspecting individual stones and for dopping.  I use insulated tweezers for holding stones during the dopping process.  Their cross locking design makes it easy to hold stones firmly in place.  Insulated tweezers offer more control when dopping small stones and keeps hands at a safe distance from the flame.
