Trim Saws for Faceters:

Please Note:
We do not sell the equipment below. This page is offered as an informational resource for our customers.

Nothing is more frustrating than having a great piece of rough that has a crack running right through the center.  The anguishing decision (and perhaps expensive proposition) of which side gets ground away into rock dust can easily be avoided by using a trim saw.

You can quickly create two great pieces of rough out of one stone using a trim saw.  Trim saws also easily trim off many inclusions.

When cutting a large stone, a trim saw can save a tremendous amount of time by quickly pre-forming the stone.  This saves money because you can facet the trimmings into more stones from the same piece of rough.

The 4" diameter, .004" thick Pro-Slicer blade that can be ordered with the 4" Tiny Trim Saw and the 4 inch, .006" thick Blue Blazer blade that can be ordered with the Raytech Jem Saw 45 cut much thinner kerfs than regular saw blades.  This saves more of your precious rough for faceting and less is ground into worthless powder.

We provide information on five saws and one combination machine below: the 4" Tiny Trim, Raytech Jem Saw 45, Hi Tech 4/5" and Hi Tech 6" Saws, Lortone 6" HiBall saw and the Rock Rascal Combination machine.  We sell 10" saws and slab saws from Covington.

Raytech Jem Saw 45:

The Raytech Jem Saw 45 is the finest saw faceters can buy. The Jem Saw 45 takes blades with a 5/8" arbor hole.

The accessory Vise (shown on right) holds stones firmly and produces a perfectly straight cut.

A Trim Table (shown on left) is also available for the Jemsaw 45.  The trim table makes it easier to cut straight lines when guiding material through the blade by hand.  It also allows you to cut long pieces all the way through the blade without bumping against the arbor.

If you have questions about new Raytech machines, accessories or repair parts, call Raytech (not us) at: (860) 632-2020.

4" Tiny Trim Saw:
The 4" Tiny Trim Saw is a great saw for faceters.  It is economical and a real workhorse.  A thin .012" Pro-Slicer blade is supplied with this fine saw.  The 4" Tiny Trim Saw takes blades with a 1/2" arbor hole.
If you have questions about the Tiny Trim saw, accessories or repair parts, call Johnson Bros. (not us) at: (714) 771-7007.

HiBall 6" Trim Saw:
The HiBall 6" Trim Saw is the best 6" trim saw we carry.  It's 4200 RPM running speed and 1/3 horse power motor makes the HiBall a fast cutting saw, even for the hardest agates.  This smooth and quiet running saw features a nice large work table size of 11" x 13".  The Hi Ball Saw comes complete with removable coolant tank, motor, high torque belt and a 6" x .012" x 5/8" arbor Pro-Slicer blade.

If you have questions about the HiBall saw, accessories or repair parts, call Lortone (not us) at: (425) 493-1600.
Hi Tech Diamond 4"/5" Trim Saw:

The Hi Tech Diamond Trim Saw is an inexpensive, handy tool that accommodates either a 4" or 5" blade.  It comes supplied with a 4" x .020" blade.  The saw has a 9" x 6-1/4" trim table that will accommodate good size slabs.

This saw has a 1/4 HP motor with variable speed from 400 to 3400 RPM that is fast enough to accommodate the thinnest blades. The Hi Tech Diamond Trim Saw takes blades with a 5/8" arbor hole.

A stripping table is available for this saw to help slice straight pieces through the blade. Shown below right.

If you have questions about the Hi Tech saw, accessories or repair parts, call Hi Tech/Good Baer Services (not us) at: (805) 465-1986.

Hi Tech Diamond 6" Trim Saw:
The Hi Tech Diamond 6" Trim Saw is a great value.  It handles big pieces of faceting rough as well as slabs and cabbing material.  We supply a 6" x .020" blade with this saw.  This saw has a large 15" x 9" table and a heavy duty 1/4 HP motor with sealed ball bearings. The speed is variable from 400 to 3400 RPM, which will accommodate super-thin blades at the high speed. The Hi Tech Diamond 6" Trim Saw takes blades with a 5/8" arbor hole.
