Graves Mark IV The Graves Mark IV has been on the market for many years. It is one of the few strictly a hard stop machines on the market. For more information on hard stop and soft stop machines check out our How-to & Tips section. Although the Graves Mark IV isn't as accurate as the Ultra Tec, MDR300C, Alpha Taurus or Facetron machines, it's a lot less expensive. The reasonable price of the Graves Mark IV makes it a great starter machine. It also uses standard 8" laps, so if you move up to a more expensive machine, your laps will fit your new machine.

Angles can be adjusted down to one-tenth of a degree with the vernier scale on the Graves Mark IV. The extremely small size of the engraving on the scale necessitates the use of magnification to accurately set angles. As one will already be using magnification when faceting, this is only a very small inconvenience. The Graves Mark IV comes completely set up with everything you need except faceting rough. Besides including the drip tank and lamp, the Graves also comes with a full set of laps! Most cutting diagrams are set up for a 96 index, but the Graves is only supplied with a 32 index. Therefore, we suggest if you purchase a Graves Mark IV, you also order a Graves-96 index. The girdle The Graves Mark IV comes with the following features and accessories:
